Mahj for Friends is for the gathering, not the lesson. Whether you’re wanting to host a larger group than usual, you want to try out a new setup, or you just want someone to get the experience set up and ready to go, we've got you! We bring everything — tiles, racks, mats, cards — and host the tables so you don’t have to.
Ways to Gather
Private Group Play
Game night, handled. Your regular crew or a few friends looking for a few focused hours at the table. We bring the full setup and stay to keep things moving — answering questions, smoothing out the rough spots, keeping the pace. Perfect for groups who already play and want to mix it up on a fresh setup, or just need a few more sets of tiles to make it a real girls’ night.
Note: this is play, not a lesson — we’ll keep the game running and answer questions, but it’s not the time to teach the table how to play. New to mahjong? Start with Mahj for Beginners.
A Hosted Social
Mahjong as the thing that brings everyone together. Maybe it’s a birthday, a girls’ night, a celebration, or just a good excuse. You set the occasion, and we bring the experience that gets people talking, laughing, and actually connecting. Casual or themed, daytime or after dark. You handle the guest list and the spread, we handle the mahjong.
The Mahjong Tasting Menu
Thinking about buying a set and want to get your hands on a few before you choose? Try before you commit. We bring a spread of tile sets, mats, and racks for your group to explore, compare, and play on, so you know what you love before you spend a dollar. Book it on its own, or make it part of a private group play or hosted social — ask us about adding a tasting menu to your event. Think Tupperware party, minus the part where someone’s selling you something.
A few details
Pricing is based on your group size and the kind of event you’re planning. Reach out and we’ll talk through it.
You provide the space, the tables & chairs, and any food and drinks you’d like — we bring everything else you need to play.
We can host groups of just about any size — from 4, up to around 200 players (and if you’ve somehow got more than that, we’ll figure it out!)
We travel within 10 miles of 75229; a small travel fee may apply beyond that.
